THE CREATIVITY GYM
A space to strengthen your artistic muscles—at your own pace, in your own way
This is a project I’ve been dreaming about for a long time.
The Creativity Gym is a a class series and a way of thinking about the creative life that’s grounded in consistency, care, and curiosity. It was born from a personal discovery: the more I committed to physical strength training, the more I realized how much it mirrored the creative process.
I used to think creativity was something you either had or didn’t. But what if it’s more like a muscle? Something you can stretch, tone, challenge, and rest? Something that gets stronger the more you show up?
This idea really came to life when I led a retreat for people who wanted to reconnect with their creativity—some after years of putting it aside. I saw myself in them: hesitant, intimidated, secretly craving a chance to make things again. The Creativity Gym is the framework I created to help ease that reentry. It’s gentle, sometimes playful, and always rooted in the belief that creativity is for everyone.
Here are just a few of the “workouts” I explore:
Getting back in shape after a creative dry spell
Building strength by committing to your own voice and ideas
Stretching your comfort zone with new approaches and experiments
Recovery and rest as essential parts of the process
Group fitness—how we make better art when we make it together
Training for a marathon (like writing a book, mounting a show, or finally starting that dream project)
Motivation—how to keep going when things feel flat or tough
After my maternity leave, I’ll be offering a series of in-person Creativity Gym classes in New York. These sessions will gently guide you through different aspects of the “gym,” whether you're reconnecting with an old artistic love, just getting started, or looking to deepen your current practice.
More details coming soon—but if this resonates, I’d love to create alongside you.
