AT WORK

A creating practice for real life with Mari Andrew

IN-PERSON WORKSHOPS:

LIVING ARTFULLY:
Bringing creativity into everyday life

Creativity thrives in the way you notice, gather, and respond to your days. This workshop explores how to bring a creative sensibility into everyday life by paying attention to what moves you, following your curiosities, and treating ordinary moments as magic. Through a series of thoughtful exercises and conversation, we will explore how creativity is already present in your life and how to shape it into a practice that feels natural, sustaining, and your own.

This session is for you if…

  • You want to infuse more wonder into your daily life

  • You’re curious about paying closer attention to your own thoughts, memories, and daily experiences

  • You’re a write or artist who wants a natural and personal creative practice

  • You’ve been away from creativity for a while and want to dip your toe back in

  • You’ve never had a creative practice and want a comfortable way to start

HIDDEN THREAD:
Unearthing your best ideas

You already have more material than you think. This workshop is about learning how to recognize the patterns, themes, and questions that keep returning in your creative life. Through guided prompts and reflection, we’ll uncover what is already alive in you and asking for attention, then begin growing it into possible directions for future work.

This session is for you if…

  • You like to write but don’t know what to write about

  • You feel stuck or blocked and need a reset

  • You find a lot of meaning in your life but you’re not sure what’s interesting to other people

  • You’re an avid writer who needs some new material

THE CREATIVE STUDIO

My own creative practice has been shaped by sustained attention and the discipline of returning to an idea over time. I designed this studio to offer that same structure and focus.

Over six weeks beginning in September 2026, I will work with a small group in-person in NYC to develop a creative project with intention. Across three sessions, I will guide you from direction through development to completion, combining discussion, structured exercises, and dedicated work time. We will focus on identifying strong ideas and shaping them with clarity and purpose. I will also meet with you once individually for focused feedback and any personal conundrums!

You may be returning after time away or already in the middle of a project. What matters is devotion to creating from the soul, and an instinct that your work wants to be shared!

By the end of the studio, you will have made meaningful progress on a project and a clearer sense of how to continue.

Participation includes three in-person gatherings, one 1:1 meeting with me, and an optional time for the group to work together outside of sessions.

The cost is $1,500.

To keep the group small and well matched, I invite you to apply. The application is an initial expression of interest and intent. I will review them in July and invite a small group to join, then open registration and payment options in August.

WOOHOO I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS!

A small, in-person group of people who want to take their creative work seriously
